A Wholesome End to 2025

In 13 years of video production I can safely say I've shot most kinds of projects that come to mind. I've created videos across so many industries and ended up filming some pretty off the wall projects in the name of getting paid to shoot.

I'm going to start digging out the more random of the projects on this new blog as I've spent the last few weeks remastering and archiving over a decade of videos.

I'm mainly known for event videography which draws the frequent question 'Ooo, do you do weddings?' - my immediatel, often interrupted answer is usually a 'No, I'm afraid not', but I have been known to dive in and shoot wedding films for friends, family and clients when I'm sure I can offer them something personal and unique. It's just not my bag in general.

Towards the end of last year an old client of mine, Fresh, dropped me a line and wanted to create a high-end engagement video. At first I thought he wanted me to hide numerous cameras and capture him on one knee, easy enough.

Actually, Fresh wanted to surprise his girlfriend with a talking-head video dedicated to her, a love letter in visual form. It would interupt a film they'd booked in a boutique hotel cinema in London, on a date night they'd since made a christmas tradition.

Questions were prepared, Ring doorbells and security cameras were obscured and we loaded in our kit to Fresh and Anna's flat in early December, completely under the radar and spent a wholesome day capturing anecdotes and messages to Fresh's better half.

We went all out with a multicamera set up, as many of our lights that we could feasibly fit in Fresh's living room and our pro shotgun mic overhead - and then spent an entire day in Warwick Avenue recording heartfelt, emotional and hilarous stories for our surprise edit.

"Now Alex, you've asked us a load of questions about Anna, I think it's only fair if I ask Anna a question now...'

The shoot went great, the edit was then shared and revised over Frame, with Fresh sneaking off to make comments and suggestions to the narrative without being caught.

It was the last project we wrapped up for the year and we were so happy to hear it was recieved well... she said yes!

It also served as a sweet memento for the family with an hour of answers we could have used now immortalised on film for them both - and yes Fresh, I'll make my tenth(?!) exception and shoot your wedding film too.
